A built-in microwave and wall oven combination is a fantastic solution for many kitchens. It is a combination of the convenience of a microwave with the flexibility of wall ovens. Explore our complete selection of combination microwaves and wall ovens to find the right option for your home. Make sure you read the cutout specifications and the installation guide for your chosen unit to ensure it will work in your space. Our microwave & oven combinations include both microwave and oven models in a variety designs, colors and styles that can be incorporated into any decor. Also, look for features like modern and efficient digital controls, a power-cook function and built in self-cleaning options to help you save time.
Convenience
A microwave oven with built-in features will save you space on your counters and make your kitchen appear more modern appearance. Because it acts as a microwave and traditional oven it can cook leftovers, frozen foods and pre-packaged meals in one appliance. It also eliminates the need for a separate countertop appliance or large wall ovens that are stand-alone. If you want to upgrade your home without having to undertake major changes the combination microwave oven is a great choice.
You can find microwave ovens that come in a variety of designs to fit your kitchen's decor. Some microwave oven combos have doors that swing out right to left, while others are drop-down designs that open in the same way as traditional ovens. You can also find microwave ovens with the drawer design that opens like an open cabinet. The microwave drawers are easy to reach and are great for small spaces where you want to avoid taking up valuable counter space.

Combination microwaves also come with a range of features to aid in meal preparation and more convenient. For example, some models have sensors for steam cycles that automatically adjusts the time and temperature of your food to ensure you receive perfect steaming of your fish and vegetables. Other features include a broil feature that lets you quickly melt cheese or brown your favorite dish and Crispwave(tm) technology that can grill, bake and crisp foods.
When selecting a microwave oven combination, make sure to consider how often you'll use each function. If you'll be using the oven more frequently than the microwave, you may be better off buying an oven that doubles as a wall. A combo oven has less capacity than an oven that is a standalone unit.
When you've chosen a microwave and oven combo to meet your needs, you should think about the installation process. Over-the-range models mount over your cooktop or stove and connect to an electrical outlet, whereas built-in microwaves are inserted directly into the walls or cabinets of your kitchen. Some models come with trim kits to make your microwave match the cabinets you already have.
Energy Efficiency
A built-in microwave oven combination can be an ideal space-saving solution for those with smaller kitchens, regardless of whether they are in a house or an apartment. They can free up the space that would be taken up by separate appliances, and also reduce energy consumption. They are more energy efficient than traditional wall ovens and offer a more efficient way to cook. In addition, they can be used to cook both hot and cold dishes, reducing the requirement for additional appliances, such as toasters or warming plates.
When evaluating possible amendments to energy conservation standards, DOE conducts several analyses that include assessment of technology and market, screening analysis, engineering analysis and national impacts analysis (NIA). In this SNOPR, DOE will use its engineering analysis of microwave ovens to determine what level of efficiency improvements are technologically feasible for this particular product.
DOE will compare the design of a microwave to the energy performance goals set in the engineering analysis. The engineering analysis will then determine the maximum improvement in energy efficiency that is technologically feasible based on the most advanced microprocessor-controlled model available on the market or in working prototypes, or the maximum reduction in energy consumption that is technically achievable with the current technologies available for this product class.
As part of NIA, DOE will assess the impacts on consumers, including cost savings throughout the lifecycle and simple payback time (PBP). built in microwaves will employ its Government Regulatory Impact Model with an adaptation for microwave ovens to calculate industry net present value ("NPV").
The impact on manufacturers will be evaluated also as the impact on manufacturers will be evaluated. DOE will use a modified version of the Industry Cash Flow model, which has been adapted to this particular product type to calculate the manufacturing NPV. Additionally, DOE will consider the potential impact on small-business manufacturers and other subgroups of manufacturers to identify any that could be affected in a different way by these proposals.
In addition, DOE will consider whether the test procedures for microwave ovens need to be updated to include active mode energy use and an integrated active mode energy use measurement. Currently, the test protocols only cover the standby mode power usage.
Design
Microwaves generate heat through the process of causing water molecules to vibrate in food. Wall ovens rely upon the circulation of hot air, while microwaves depend on waves to cause food molecules to vibrate. Combination wall units combine these two appliances into one unit, which is ideal for securing space in the kitchen and offering a sleek modern aesthetic. However, it is important to think about your needs and budget before investing in a combo wall oven. A few of the combo wall ovens that we've rated have issues with performance or design.
